Fail at command: "python configure.py" #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
 1. python configure.py

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
 The expected output is the Make configuration file.
 What I see instead is:
  sip: vns/polyline.sip:6: syntax error
  Error: Unable to open "./vns.sbf"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
 Version: python-vns 1.0 (git clone).
 OS: Linux 2.6.38-16-generic Ubuntu x86_64

Please provide any additional information below.
I've just installed the vns-lib and works perfectly, but I'd like experiment 
with python too. Thank you very much for your kindly help.
