Newer versions of proj.4 than 4.8.0 fail to build

Newer version of proj.4 than 4.8.0 (tried 4.9.0 and 4.9.1) fail to build with following error:

Bad CPU type in executable

This seems to be an upstream issue (see mapnik/mapnik-packaging#133).
