How many minimum data or stopsite is required?

I've tried several interpolation method for rainfall data from 5 stations, including kriging using SmartMap. but it doesn't work.
But i've tried to interpolate another random data from 122 station, and it's working. 
I wonder if there's any minimum data to be able to execute this plugin for kriging interpolation?
