be able to label phone numbers with names. Even better if you can use Google Contacts directly for this (e.g. query google contacts and print "John Doe: mobile" if a number matches his in the users' contacts)

This will require another database. Should it be manually entered or imported via vcard? Or pulled via Google?

Actually the google contacts are easy to access so it would just need to be mirrored locally so that non google ones can be used
