Unable to delete from external libraries

I have immich installed on unraid 7.2.3. I have external libraries from nextcloud linked. I have the external library in question set to read/write. Immich states in the webgui that the photo was deleted but when I look in the file system, it wasn't deleted. I changed logging to verbose and I don't see any errors.

Does anyone know what I can do to get this to work? I want to use the de-duplication tool.

I have confirmed that I can delete images thru the docker console for the immich app. When I try to delete thru the webgui, I get a 204 response which from my googling seems to be a non fatal response.
