Commit 6327707c0 causing invoke update failure

Putting this here as it may well be my setup that's broken rather than the update
I've narrowed it down to commit 6327707 that causes the problem

I'm on master branch, commit 49f8f72
If I then git merge 6327707c0 activate env and run invoke update

It appears I do have dotenv module installed at /home/inventree/src/env/lib/python3.12/site-packages/dotenv
and if I run pip list with env active I get python-dotenv 1.1.1

Am I missing something simple?

PS I've tried deleting and recreating the env folder with python3 -m venv env but no change

Never mind. which invoke revealed I was using the system one not the venv one which pip install invoke fixed.
Completely out of my depth here but don't understand why python3 -m venv env doesn't create it.

I've been ignoring the 'unknown environment' warning at the very first line after running invoke update but it hasn't seemed to have been affecting anything until now
