Stock Location Attributes

Hi Folks!
I'm working on some projects for improving my shop organization and one of them is inventorying specialty fasteners.
I've got a scale with a serial output and the plan is to drop a screw bin on the scale and be able to scan its barcode and automatically update the part count based on the part weight and the weight of the container. This would all be done via a python script with access to the Inventree API.

One of the things I'll need to be able to do is record the tare weights of individual containers. At the moment, all I see available at the stock location level is the description field, and my current idea is to pack a JSON object in there with attributes of the container. Of course this is less than ideal, especially as its marked optional, and I imagine there's a risk of this breaking with an update as nobody is using the description field this way.

I took a look at this discussion and saw that there had been some tentative plans to add some more information to individual stock locations. Are there still plans to expand on this idea? Alternatively, is there a better solution to this problem that I haven't considered?

@Kriegbaum in the upcoming 1.2.0 release we now support generic parameters against different model types, which are now directly supported in the user interface.

In #11084 I am adding support for stock location parameters which was not yet implemented.

Now, you can add arbitrary parameters against a stock location - e.g.
