Win 7 "com8: Permission Denied

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start boblightd.exe
2. After a little while I get the error "com8: Permission denied"
3. Have tried different com ports and tried to change the boblightd.conf file

I dont have a good enough understanding to troubleshoot what is going on.
Im trying to have boblight give data to my arduino duemilanove for a ambient 
light project but cant get boblight to work.  Any suggestions?
