Background color #42

Hi,
I have been going through all tutorials and config files but can't seem to determine if it is possible to set the plot background white?
At the moment it is transparent. When I convert it to pdf (irrespective of the tool) it becomes black. I tried installing Bakit but it is a bit more challenging then expected.
Is there a way to set the background color of the plot (including in between the different rings in the conf file?
