Game stops responding on loading screen during Boss Rush on Obsidian Tower #7

Hi there, loving this patch! Since installing though, I've experienced a few occasions where the game stops responding. It only seems to happen during Boss Rush, and in particular on Obsidian Tower after beating the 2 eyebat king stage. When I proceed to the next stage, the game gets stuck on the Now Loading screen. The music plays normally but it never loads the next stage, and I can't do anything with the controller. When I click with the mouse it brings up a not responding window. Is this a known issue? Is there any workaround besides not doing boss rush or uninstalling the patch?
