QtQuick Update failed - no install possible

Hi,

today i started with a new Pi5 1GB and VenusOS 3.70, trying to install SetupHelper Script (for Canbus) but it failed at the Setup.
How can i fix that?

The error you are seeing is not related to modifying files for QtQuick but with a patch to PageSettings.qml to add the PackageManager menu.

I do not find problems with the install on a RPI4 and do not have an RPI5 to test on but have compared the files between the two platforms and they are identical.

Is there something else that could be modifying that file before the SetupHelper install is attempted? Could you try a fresh Venus OS install and compare:

/opt/victronenergy/gui/qml/PageSettings.qml
with
/data/SetupHelper/FileSets/PatchSource/PageSettings.qml.orig

If there's a difference please show me the diff.
If not, try the SetupHelper install again.

Hi, i only install a fresh version of the original Pi5 Image from Github to my SD Card with RPI Manager and then i try to install SetupHelper.
There are some differences shown between the two files

I'm sorry, I gave you incorrect instructions for the comparison and there is nothing on your system you can use for comparisons.

I have compared the stock PageSettings.qml files from V3.70 for RPI4 and RPI5 and they are identical. I have manually run patch on the stock PageSettings.qml file from V3.70 on my RPI4 system and it succeeds so I'm at a loss to explain your problem.

Please try the following commands:

/data/SetupHelper/patch --forward -o foo /opt/victronenergy/gui/qml/PageSettings.qml /data/SetupHelper/FileSets/PatchSource/PageSettings.qml.patch

if that succeeds:

/data/SetupHelper/patch --reverse -o foo2 foo /data/SetupHelper/FileSets/PatchSource/PageSettings.qml.patch

if either fails, include the command line output here.

It looks like the issue is the patch binary I provide with SetupHelper won't run on a RPI 5.

The patch binary supplied with Venus OS is a scaled-back (space saving) version and does not support all the options needed for SetupHelper, so I pulled a binary from a RaspberryPiOS image.

I'll need some time to work out a solution.
