✅ How To Fix It
🔹 Step 1 — Verify the URL

Make sure you're using:

https://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetAppList/v2/

NOT:

http://api.steampowered.com

https://api.steampowered.com:80

https://store.steampowered.com/api/
...

https://localhost/
...

🔹 Step 2 — Test from your server manually

On your host machine:

curl https://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetAppList/v2/

If this fails → your server environment is the problem.

If it works → your Python code configuration is wrong.

🔹 Step 3 — Check for Proxy Settings in Python

If you’re using:

requests.get(url, proxies=...)

Remove the proxy temporarily and test.

🔹 Step 4 — If Running Behind Nginx

If your backend is hosted like this:

Client → HTTPS → Nginx → HTTP → Backend

Make sure your backend calls Steam directly, not through your own domain.

✅ Good:

https://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetAppList/v2/

Add this to your Python code:

If this crashes with WRONG_VERSION_NUMBER → environment issue.
