Brings Up A Select When Unwanted

I have a system in which the dropdown looks like this:
Options:
Any
House > Any
House > 1 > Any
House > 1 > 1
House > 1 > 2*
House > 1 > 3
House > 2 > Any
House > 2 > 1*
House > 2 > 2
House > 2 > 3
The ones with asterisks are causing problems. When I click on House > 1 > 2, for example, it brings up the drop down as if I had clicked House > 2 as well. So there are two third level dropdowns. It is because it thinks that because I clicked House > 1 > 2, that the 2 is its parent and it appears. Quick fix is to add a prefix so that the two troublesome dropdowns look like this:
House > Row 1 > Chair 2
House > Row 2 > Chair 1
I would appreciate it if this were fixed so that I could keep just straight up numbers.

Hey @drsirmrpresidentfathercharles! I've just had this repo transferred back to me from my previous employer (I originally created it while working there). Over the coming days and weeks I'll be catching up with all the issues and looking into personally maintaining this in the long run.

I think I forked it and attempted to fix it, but I kept screwing it up. You are more than welcome to look at it though. Mi code es tu code. (That should seriously be a license name for like the MIT license).
