Ability to drop server name when reading

first of all, kudos for the work!! The more I use it, the more I love it!
I'd like to have a possibility in template to indicate that I don't want necessarily server names in each post. Like, @bri is enough, rather than @bri@fwoof.space.
I tried $user.screen_name$ as indicated in the docs, but it didn't get parsed and was output literally.
I also tried to look in the code, but apparently those are taken from Mastodon/BlueSky API.
