Description
The combat in KH2 feels IMMEDIATELY better than KH1's. KH1 is only comparable after 30h of progression.
KH1's abilities (1) made the player feel stronger, but more importantly (2) made the combat less insufferable. I think the devs realized that the abilities can still be meaningful without otherwise clunky combat. In other words, making the combat great at the beginning is just a net positive. (Or maybe they just improved as game devs and it's not really that deep. But then I wouldn't have much of a lesson in game dev)
