Move to another file

Hi, is there a way to improve your plugin in order to open a file with quick look, then move to the next file in the pane without closing the window, like in Finder?

Sorry for the late reply. I can see how that would be useful, unfortunately I don't know (yet) how someone could implement this functionality. The reason is that so far, I only know how to send information from fman -> other applications (by launching them). But not how I can make fman / plugins receive information from applications ("<-").

I just came here to request the same thing 😄 It seems like doing it as a separate application is always going to be problematic. Is there any way to use native code to manage quicklook? It's a pretty crucial feature.

Other than implementing the feature - which should be possible with fman's plugin API - there's nothing else I can think of. But thanks :-)

That seems like an incredibly complex way of waiting for a keypress. The following script is much simpler and works just as well in my testing. To be honest, I didn't actually test your version of the script. Does it provide some other benefit that I'm just not seeing?

#!/bin/sh

qlmanage -p "$@" &>/dev/null &
QL_PID=$!

echo "Press any key to return"
read -s -n 1

kill $QL_PID

I didn't test this, neither I have time. But I think based on this it should be possible to close the window and send back to fman what key was pressed and do a action based on that.

I think it wouldn't even be that hard to implement.
