azure cogntive search extension error while creating datasource

Hi @jagkoth - I've run into this issues in two cases:

1. when using a private endpoint
2. when using private clouds (such as Azure Government)

Are either of those items true for you?

If 1 is true, I would recommend confirming if you can access the search service from postman. The private endpoint may not be configured correctly.

If 2 is true, please see issue #15 (or let me know if you're trying to get it to work for a different Azure cloud)

Hi @dereklegenzoff I suspect the point 1 is the issue in here. I tried to explore by testing with/without endpoint which makes the difference.

I do confirm that private endpoint was created successfully along with while service deployment.

The question that I have is with private endpoint enabled how to mange this service, can't able to create datasource connection, index etc. Could you please tell me how can I resolve this issue?

Are you trying to connect to the search service from a virtual machine within the VNet? If not, that is the issue. This tutorial shows how to create a VM that can access the search service.

If you are trying to access the search service from within a VM in the VNet already, try to ping the search service as described in the tutorial above (test connection). If that works but the extension still isn't working, I suspect the DNS isn't configured properly. You could then recreate the DNS in the portal.
