unable to install blsAPI from CRAN or Github

Hello,
I went to install blsAPI from CRAN using install.packages("blsAPI") but it says the package is not available for this version (I am using Rv4.4) and when I try to install it using install_github('mikeasilva/blsAPI') I get the following error

Using GitHub PAT from the git credential store.
Error: Failed to install 'unknown package' from GitHub:
  HTTP error 401.
  Bad credentials

I registered for an API from BLS and not sure if I need to store that somewhere to download the package? Thanks for any help!
