New photos or videos not displayed in "All Media"; new Photos not displayed in "Photos"; new videos ARE displayed in "Videos"

Describe the bug
From the Nextcloud Android client, I auto-upload photos and videos into the /Photos directory of my Nextcloud instance. Uploaded photos or videos are not displayed in the "All Media" view and photos are not displayed in the "Photos" view. Oddly, new videos ARE displayed in the "Videos" view.

All uploaded photos and videos are displayed in the "Folder" view.

Also, all photos and videos from files_external mounted into "/Photos/Shared" are displayed in all of the views.

There are no errors in the browser log, or the PostgreSQL server; running Nextcloud 30.0.5. Same result with Firefox or Chrome.

I have an issue where I can only see photos starting from last month in Photos app, new photos and videos are missing. Once the new month rolls around, I can see the images that I uploaded within the last month. Memories app works properly and shows all photos, but at some point the Photos app introduced this issue.

I wonder if the root cause is the same in both our cases.

New Photos are not shown. Today, 26.01.2025, only 1 picture is shown for November 2024, 1 for Oktober 2024, 10 for September, ... There are more pictures takes in the respective months.
Media-Folders are Shared Folders.
Nothing is displayed in the "Folder" view.

I'm also having this issue. But there's a way to show new photos: scroll down until a new page is requested, and you'll see your new photos at the top of the page (where they should be upon page load).

Also you can temporarily fix this running something like this: php occ files:scan --all --generate-metadata -vvv

If you're using AIO, you'll need to run this before: docker exec --user www-data -it nextcloud-aio-nextcloud bash

This did seem to work for me, and some new photos uploaded from the android client are now showing up as well (after the scan). I'll keep testing to see if the scan fixed some issue.

After running occ files:scan --all --generate-metadata -vvv, new photos and videos are now showing properly upon upload. Perhaps that scan cleaned up some inconsistency that I could not find. I'll close this for now since it appears it can be "fixed" by the scan.

I can confirm that the same fix works, however it did take a very long time to complete (10+ hours) compared to the usual occ files:scan --all that I run daily (2-5 minutes).
