New graph and ResNet-based regional weather forecasting systems, interestingly the graph one did not perform very well, but the ResNet did, with diffusion to make ensembles.

I’m new to contributing to this project, but I’d love to help fix Issue #161

• I’ve been learning about [ graph neural networks, weather modeling, PyTorch].
• I’ve reviewed the codebase and believe I can tackle this with some guidance.

Plan for Fixing

1. Confirming if the bug exists in the latest code
2. Isolating the broken component
3. Data error? → Reshape (tensor.permute()), normalize, or clip data.
4. Code error? → Fix conditional/logic (e.g., if x.size(0) > 1: → if x.size(1) > 1:).
5. Dependency? → Add version guard (assert torch.version >= "2.0.0").
6. Ensuring there are no regressions.
7. finally I will Submit PR.

Could you assign this issue to me? I’d appreciate any pointers or mentorship along the way!

Hi,

This is a different issue than the one you linked. Its also not a bug/needs fixing, so I would recommend looking more closely at the papers/issues and what they are asking to be done. The plan is also very generic and not relevant to either this issue or the linked one, as they are about implementing papers in this repo.
