Hello
I have a question. Have you managed to make a webview work with Linux?
I need webviews on all platforms (except web) but I didn't manage to find a flutter package which works for all of them.
Could you help me out if you managed to make it work on all platforms?

I did actually - there's just some caviets. To start, due to weird libmpv versioning, there's a lot of odd problems you'll run into. Also, it'll make your Linux binary massive. I do want to improve that down the line, but it'll be a while.

Can you tell me what's the difference between your solution and webview_all? Should I use your git or the package in pub.dev?

For me Linux does not work correctly. It opens new windows in an infinite loop instead of doing an "embedded" view.
webview_cef has always this behaviour in my setup. Is it maybe because I'm running it in WSL2?

webview_all backs desktop with webf which is super incomplete. I back desktop with a variety of different frameworks depending on the platform - being webview_windows for windows, and webview_cef for Linux (meaning Linux webview is practically backed by chromium). WSL2 is almost certainly going to cause major issues, test only on bare metal.

In an Ubuntu virtual machine your fireview main.dart example also open new windows in an infinite loop.
I see this message in the terminal:

Please customize CefSettings.root_cache_path for your application. Use of the default value may lead to unintended process singleton behavior.

Do you know what could be the issue or how I could make it work?

Could the issue with opening new windows in an infinite loop be because I'm using Ubuntu 24 instead of Ubuntu 22?

Edit: Ubuntu 22 has the same behaviour.

I get sometimes the following error:
[FATAL:watcher.cc(166)] Check failed: queue_time <= metadata.execution_start_time (2635323194 bogo-microseconds vs. 2635323191 bogo-microseconds)
