If you can provide a Modbus-Address-List, maybe.

It could be that i need the Device for Debug, because its nesseccery to find a unique Pair of Values in the Modbus-Data to identify the Model

Hi, i wasable to find some Modbus-Registers to read some of the nesseccery Values to act as Meter for Venus-OS, but i was not able to find an Modbus-Register to identify the Device-Model.

It looks like in the Manuel are not all Modbus-Registers included.
Are you able to Sniff some of the Modbus communication?
I need something like a Model-Number oder Model-Name returned via a Modbus-Register.

How you connext to the Device Currently, via ModbusTCP or ModbusRTU, if its via ModbusTCP, you can use Janitza Gridvis to connect to the Device and Sniff the Connection with Wireshark.

Thank you! I have looked at Gridvis earlier but did not want to buy a license. For now I only use the device for manual readout. I will download the trial version of Gridvis and report back to you ASAP.

Hi Patrick, sorry for my late reaction. I have been struggling with the Janitza device. Seems that there is no data coming out. First, I thought that my RS485 to USB adapter was defective or my driver was not correct. But now I have checked the output of the meter with a scope it seems that there is a HW problem with the device itself. I am not sure what I will do. but maybe I try to get the same UMG96 Janitzu device as you via Ebay.

Before you buy another UMG try changing the data lines around, Janitza label them differently from most other users of modbus. That's always worked for me when getting no data. As the UMG is a slave it won't transmit until it gets a message from a master.
