canvas.toDataURL() not implemented

is there a way to use canvas.toDataURL or any other solution to save the content as an image?

Hi,

Currently there is not. Adding this could look something like:

• add a method to the JS displayobject class which synchronously executes a method in flash and returns the result (see hitTest for a method like this - most interaction with flash flushed every frame).
• add a method to the Haxe displayobject class and add it in the mapMethods function using a unique key (such as 'imgdata').
• in that method get a bitmapdata from the display object and convert it to a png string:
• there are several good png encoders for haxe. This port of Adobe's one will work within EaselFL's Flash9 target: https://github.com/cameron314/PNGEncoder2/blob/master/PNGEncoder.hx
• then encode to base64 string using haxe.crypto.BaseCode

thank you for the fast reply. I worked out an implementation but the code is still a bit messy, because i'm not used to working with haxe. This is how far i got with your and googles help:

I didn't know how to convert the ByteArray to a Base64 String, maybe you know a simpler way to do this? Thanks.
