Is there a plan to publish an officially branded php docker image ?

Hello !

I'm using frankenphp on all my new PHP projects and it's awesome ! Simpler and efficient 😄.

However, since the project has moved under the PHP umbrella, is there any plan to moved the official frankenphp images in the php namespace? Or maybe publish an official frankenphp image the same way it's done for PHP?

I don't know what it means to declare an official image but I'm curious to know if those questions have been raised at some point.

That would be up to the docker team, I believe. They control the php "umbrella" of the images.

Thank you, I wasn't aware about a docker team in the PHP organization. I follow the mailing list, maybe there is another place to ask that question to that team ?

There isn't a Docker team in PHP (that I'm aware of). There is just the PHP community images run by volunteers.

Ok sorry for the confusion 😄. I though that the official PHP image (which seems official only by the hub.docker.com rules) was managed in some place by the PHP Team…

It's managed on an external repository here: https://github.com/docker-library/php

Since the Github actions are executed based on the current repository (https://github.com/php/frankenphp/actions/workflows/docker.yaml) it's might be fine 😄.

None of the contributors to that project other than Tim are in the php-src team. It's managed externally.
