If this line is uncommented, a login to RStudio results in a "cannot initiate session" warning...not sure what this is about.

I replaced with echo 'R_LIBS_USER=${R_LIBS_USER}' >> /usr/local/lib/R/etc/Renviron and it now works.

This sets the user's R library to a folder in their home directory, are we definitely happy with that? I assume the idea is to keep the docker image small and let users install personal packages, but this comes with the cost of possibly replicated R packages installed in everyone's home dir.
