Question about using this on v139

Hey, so my Chromebook is on v139 kernver 6, I was wondering if I could use the SH1mmer-SMUT (https://github.com/rainestorme/murkmod/blob/main/docs/installation.md#SH1mmer-SMUT) on this version, board dedede drawer. I also have never used this before and was wondering the following:

1. Could I use the Google play store
2. Could I disable extension with this
3. Can I use crostini
4. What available plugins are there

I am currently enrolled, and I cannot change my kernver (at least that I know of). Any help would be useful!

Your version shouldn't affect any of the functions you have said, but some features, like crostini and many plugins are buggy or not working. BE CAREFUL!!! If your version is greater than 124 (kv4) then rebooting will brick the Chromebook and cause you to have to recover your Chromebook.

So would it work, and by reboot do you mean restarting or going into recovery mode and then exiting. Also, how would i unbrick it

By rebooting I mean pressing power and refresh at the same time, anything that would normally take you to the "You are in developer mode" screen. Entering recovery mode would do the same thing. To unbrick it you would have to recover it by flashing a USB and using recovery mode to fix the Chromebook. This will uninstall murkmod and re-enroll the Chromebook.

To fix this, I would recommend avoiding updating your Chromebook by using a network exploit. Or preventing the Kernel from updating with the Chromebook, I think there is something for that.

K, thanks for the help, but do you know if doing the SH1mmer-SMUT method would work in the first place?

I have not used that method before, I would recommend the devmode installer if you are already unenrolled. Murkmod will not re-enroll you until installed, so no issues will occur until the computer tries to update.

Dev mode is blocked, and idk any ways to unblock on kernvar 6

So if i take it apart and do SH1mmer-SMUT what is the chance it would not work if done correctly

Also, how would I use the image_patcher.sh to make the Sh1mmer-SMUT payload with fakemurk

After Pencil unenrollment, the Chromebook should not have any issues with Murkmod. Everything including bootable shims should boot properly. I have never used Sh1mmer_SMUT though

Would the pencil thingy also unblock devmode?

Yes but it would not re-enroll the Chromebook in devmode, you still need murkmod for that

So after doing it would it be possible to re-enroll the Chromebook in non-murkmod?

If you power washed the chromebook it would undo the unenrollment and everything such as devmode would be blocked again as soon as you re-enrolled
