First stab at supporting batch and multiple requests (see ticket 12). At the moment it is questionable how (and if) this is ever integrated into the basic API.

Have a look at the file examples/operations-in-batch-mode.py for a custom API supporting these features. Including them into the main API does not seem to be worth sacrificing a clean API. Therefore until I hear any loud complaints, it will stay like it is.
