I have the PoC repo here https://github.com/max-arnold/salt-extensions-metadata/ (it is heavily based on the code written by Pedro). The idea was to crawl the PyPI, discover the new extensions and automatically submit a PR for a human to review and merge the metadata. Then I can use something like Hugo to build a static site that lists the extensions, then publish it on GH pages under the following subdomain: https://extensions.saltproject.io/

The missing parts are:

• Deal with trusted/untrusted PyPI fields
• Finalize the metadata format
• Implement the automatic PR creation
• Build a static site
• Host it
• Add a search box to the static site
