Can't use over password fields

I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but I've upgraded to Sonoma and the latest Jumpcut and I can't paste from Jumpcut when I'm on a password field. Jumpcut won't even show upon pressing the hotkey. Is that supposed to happen?

This is also an issue for me. It happens quite often that something with auto-fill settings in Safari conflicts with jumpcut (AWS console forms are a big one for me). I would be happy to help if there are any pointers as to how, because I use jumpcut all day, every day, and literally cannot imagine my working life without it.

@doominio @bnh1 Unfortunately this is a fundamental issue with a security feature in Monterey and later; outside programs can't observe what's being typed when the password field is in focus (for good reasons! You don't want a keylogger stealing your bank credentials, etc.), so the global hotkey isn't propagated out where Jumpcut can be triggered. See #85 -- the workaround is that you can use Jumpcut (including via the menu) to put the password onto the clipboard, then paste (Command-V) normally, which is not ideal but should function.

Any clipboard app or keyboard macro type program (like expanso, Keyboard Maestro, Hammerspoon, etc.) that functions by monitoring key input and simulating key presses is going to have similar problems. I believe e.g. 1Password works differently, via a Safari extension that outsources a bunch of browser behavior to 1Pass, but I'm not sure this is a good solution for @bnh1's AWS use case, since you're repeating a bunch of transient stuff like ARNs and container IDs if your experience is much like mine.

You could add a new feature to Jumpcut to overcome those silly text fields that prevent pasting: "Type as text"
This feature would simulate keystrokes for text pastings.
