Additional DoFs for torsional springs #28

Hi Debesh, I had a meeting with Stefano on Tuesday and he said that the way I am generating the matrix for the beams seems fine, however, he thinks that I am missing some DoFs for the torsional springs in the system. I was wondering if you know which vectors I can use to determine the twist of a torsional spring in the x, y, and z-direction with respect to the pivot. In the paper, they give three different rotational stiffnesses w.r.t. to x, y, z reference axis. I am struggling a bit on how I can define the rotation angle w.r.t. x, y, and z-axis around the pivot of the two connected nodes.

It could be that I am just not looking at this correctly so I'd refer you to the 4/15th page of "Structure and Conformational Dynamics of Scaffolded DNA Origami Nanoparticles" to see what the paper says and maybe you understand it in a different way.
