New User Setup Issues (first hours of usage roadblocks)

Hi Jamie and fantastic work on Spacebot! I've subscribed and have setup my Spacebot Slack integration.

In my 4-5 hours of usage so far, I encountered the following roadblocks (along with some thoughts):

1. Spacebot isn't configured to chat and reply in DMs yet.
2. Directly messaging Spacebot in the console window gets ignored. Chat is also cleared and does not save (there's a related open issue BUG: Message loss in chat #79 )

4. Would love to have the ability to connect Claude Max or Codex Pro instead of using an API key.
5. Retries due to API errors seems relatively handled. I think I saw on the home page marketing that there was an API fallback? That way when one API isn't reachable, it can use another. I'm not sure how to set this up.
6. Spacebot should read the entire channel history or kickoff a process to read and automatically learn from channels it is invited to. That would help it's memory a lot and make import much easier.
7. ^Same concept as above but for Google Drive, Github, etc. This would be a great use of the Codex Pro subscriptions, to create a knowledge base so it can be much more useful and get caught up instead of the manual ingest right now.
8. Reactions aren't working. It says it's left a reaction but no reaction appears in Slack on the messages. No "thinking" reaction.
9. My Spacebot instance is down and cannot be restarted 😦

regarding point 1, you may have to specifically allowlist users in the settings (this is needed for Discord, for example). Here's how you might do that:

@the-snesler thanks, I've added them but it's not responding yet. I don't think it's hooked up with Slack because the documentation didn't include the "Enable home and slash messages" setting in the Slack setup.

You need to run spacebot auth login on the terminal, it should open a browser

The servers came back up but are down again.

Update: Now I'm a bit sad because we were just getting started and the servers can't be restarted.

I was using the ingest tool and it stopped after the 3rd document. Concurrently, there was a worker running in the background replying to a Slack query and doing research.

So maybe some concurrency issues?

This should be resolved in the latest release 🙏
