rqst_db_vendor is ignored

I am supplying rqst_db_vendor = 'oracle' but when I get the response the SQL is a mess and rspn_db_vendor = 'mssql'. It doesn't do this on all of my statements though. It's as if there is some sort of auto detection that overrides rqst_db_vendor.
