Purpose for Using This API
I am developing a 100% free, privacy-focused, and ad-free Islamic mobile application. The app will include the Holy Quran, prayer times, and a comprehensive Hadith library to help Muslims access authentic knowledge without paywalls, subscriptions, or intrusive advertisements.
I intend to use the Sunnah.com API to fetch and display accurate, graded Hadiths (including Arabic text, English translations, and reference numbers) directly within the app.
API Rate Limits
- Maximum requests per second: 10
- Maximum requests per day: 1,000 - 5,000
Note: I am building an offline-first architecture, so I plan to cache this data locally in SQLite to minimize server load on your end.
Data Access Preference
- Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
An offline dump of the SQLite/JSON data would actually be perfect for my use case since I want users to be able to read offline. However, since the docs mention the offline dump is "not available yet," programmatic API access will allow me to build my data layer in the meantime.

- What are the languages in which would you like hadith data? Arabic and English.
- What programming language will your API client be in? Dart (Flutter).
