5.6?

Sorry to be that guy, but when can we expect a version for 5.6?
Alternatively if there was a way to just download the tehchnocrane/dolly c++ element then that would be amazing.
I'm just using it for tech vis not live link stuff and it's absurdly handy having the models that work backwards from camera position otherwise I have to animate all the crane moves.

Really appreciate your help.

there is a control rig implementation of the same logic of the crane to follow the camera position. I guess in your case that could be a better fit, as there is no dependencies to the c++ plugin itself in that case.
I just need to find some time to share the control rig, I'm thinking to record a video on how it works and how to use it
p.s. as for 5.6 update, I'm looking into that, should be ready soon on github

no worries, I will recompile the code on my own and share the binaries. The official marketplace version as usual takes some time to pass the tests.
as for the control rig version of crane simulation, I will let you know when I make the video about that. it just not easy sometimes to find time for that, but If you need it sooner and quicker, let me know please or write Horst/Technocrane with a request.

Thanks Sergei, I've managed to sort the c++ version so that's fantastic. What would be amazing is if there were real world readouts in the details panel. Height from ground, tilt angle and extension length so we had crane parameters that were recursively calculated from the camera position, I'm not sure how straight forward that would be to implement?

Hey Sergei. I've managed to get the control rig working and it's a really nice setup. The issue I'm facing is that it's not possible to attach the target to an existing camera move. So am I right in thinking that there would still be a need to set camera keyframes using the target and then have the camera parented to the head of the crane?

I've updated the github main branch with a new code of a rig simulation which also I've exposed new output parameters as you asked for - ground height, tilt angle and beams extension length

I've updated the simulation rig, it's more precise and robust now
here are changes in latest update

• Fix visual glitches on several crane models
• Refactor the Technocrane rig actor and move simulation logic from the game-thread actor tick into an animation node worker thread
• Improve targeting precision on a given camera pivot point (using a Pivot Offset property for adjustment)
• Add a Show Debug flag to visualize the target camera pivot point
• Enable the Technocrane rig actor for both in-game and shipping builds
• Output evaluation data for the rig, such as tilt angle, ground height, and beam extension length
