That Sky Mod's Future

After 10 months of dedicated work and effort, I regret to announce that development of That Sky Mod will be coming to an end. The continued challenges of the games detection methods and the consistently high ban rates have made continuing the project ultimately pointless.

As someone who works on this project in their free time, I find it no longer worth the effort to constantly try to find a way around their detection methods. The current detection methods make it practically impossible to create a stable and safe mod experience, and I cannot in good conscience continue to expose users to potential account sanctions.

Thank you for understanding, and I apologize to those who were hoping for continued updates and support but all good things must come to an end.

First off, thank you for everything you've done as someone who just found out about canvas 2 months ago. That being said, does this mean its only a matter of time until the rest of us are detected? I don't know much about these things but I would like to know what advice you'd give to someone like me.

Glad you got to try out Canvas @tyxxx720s, even if it was just for a bit. It really was something special when it worked well.

No one really knows what TGC’s tracking exactly or when they’ll come after the rest. All we can go off of are patterns—massive Eden candle counts, super fast wax gains, stuff that’s clearly not possible without automation. Even people who only ran the mod on alts to drag their mains around during auto candle runs have been banned, if their reports are to be trusted. It’s a bit safer than using mods directly on your main, but still... sus.

TGC doesn’t hit instantly. They log everything, sit on it, and drop ban waves on a random day—wipe a bunch of accounts all at once. Makes it hard to tell what triggered it, or even when you got flagged. So yeah, even folks who’ve stopped cheating weeks ago still got caught later.

As for advice, it really just depends on how much you value your account. If it’s a side account or you don’t mind risking it, you can ride it out and hope for the best. But if it’s your main and you actually care about keeping it, best advice would be to stop using anything ASAP. Like... yesterday. Every day you keep running cheats just adds more fuel to your eventual ban report. TGC’s not forgiving, but less data against you is still better than more.

So yeah, in a nutshell—if you’ve been using anything at all, it’s probably just a matter of time. #yolo, I guess.

Also, appreciate the thanks, but I’m not the actual owner of That Sky Mod itself—despite the name. The Desktop mod belongs to @XeTrinityz. I’ve just been hosting this repo since 2021, way before Canvas and when GameGuardian scripts were still prevalent. Always saw it more as a public archive for people to learn from or tinker with.

Not sure where the modding scene’s heading now. A bunch of the original devs bailed once TGC started cracking down hard. There are collective efforts in piecing together private servers, but progress is slow. Info’s scattered, no one’s really working together. Everyone’s got a bit of the puzzle, but no one’s sharing the whole thing. Gatekeeping, exclusivity, even some drama over who "owns" what.

So yeah. We’ll see where it goes from here. Maybe something comes out of it eventually. Maybe not.
