Description
Bug in short:
When editing a route, this affects the previous entries of all climbers who did not use the "override" individualization.
Bug in long:
The impact to the previous entries (records) concerned editing, when I overwrite the "official" assigned grade, metrs, etc. ((sport to trad, single pitch to multipitch or vice versa I was not investigate).
I did some editing i.e.: https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/spain/valencia/route/4398634818
For the specified route, the system also made changes to the historical records of all users who had not written their own "override."
I tried entering a grade of 3, as shown in the image. (the route has Fr. 6a or Fr 6 in old grade system.)
I find it quite surprising that the system behaves this way.
I also found that the "grade suggestion" disappears after editing.
Requested status:
I thought that when editing the assigned grade, metrs, name .... the historical records would remain unchanged (and the change would only apply to entries following this change).
Warnings:
Failure to maintain consistency in the entries before the change, i.e. changing the entries without the knowledge of the climber, should be considered a rather big problem. Basically, anyone with the appropriate rights can destroy the climber(s) statistics (difficulty, meters..) in their entries/records.
Notice:
There are cases where it is necessary to re-drill the protection, something breaks off, or protection is added or removed. For routes that lead slightly differently or have undergone minimal changes, this results in a change in grade, trad to sport (or vice versa) ...
Historically, people climbed something "different," but by changing the assigned grade, or perhaps Sport -> Trad, I can completely change their climb.
Essentially, I can create complete chaos with editing some attributes for users in their historical records
