Photo topo upload not working properly provoking duplicate uploads

Since a while I've noticed that the photo topo upload is incredibly slow. When you upload a new photo topo it could easily take 1-2 minutes to process or time out completely.

The process is unresponsive and as a user you don't know whether the process is actually still in ongoing or just stuck. As a result, you often start the process again, but later notice that the upload that you started minutes ago did also complete in the background with a new topo. Duplicates are the result.

Other users seem to struggle with the same issue, see this screenshot from 10 minutes ago:

The upload itself is fast, but then the page remains "forever" in this screen:

Despite the timeout, all photo topos apparently are uploaded.
But not only that, also one of the photos who was before reported as failed upload ("El croquis está inhabilitado.") does now show as uploaded and is creating a duplicate topo photo that needs to be remove manually.

.... I'm waiting now to see if the last failed photo from the first upload eventually also shows up ....

And it does. Now there are two duplicated photo topos

Not to mention that the actual workflow of adding routes to the topo image needs to be started manually now - which maybe not all users are familiar with as can be seen in my screenshot in the first post. The user uploaded the topo photo six times but did not draw the actual line.
