Feature description
I'd like to suggest a new option for this extension that allows users to hide the tabs' close buttons from the sidebar. It could be added to the Tree Style Tab options panel.
Down below you can find an example screenshot of how the sidebar would look like in that case compared to the current version.
User benefit
In the following, I'd like to explain the benefits of this feature for the users.
What is the user problem or growth opportunity you want to see solved?
As a user, I quickly want to gain an overview of the information I am looking for. In order to do so, I prefer a clear and focused view of my open tabs.
From this perspective, it might not be necessary that the close button is permanently visible next to each tab. The sidebar looks more cluttered with the close buttons visible in comparison to hiding them. There are many alternative options for closing a tab (f.e. using the standard tab bar, pressing Ctrl + W, using middle click or using double click if activated).
How do you know that this problem exists today? Why is this important?
Improving the design of the user interface makes a better user experience. The UI is supposed to be intuitive and clear. Adding another option to customize the user interface helps to let every user decide themselves what's most intuitive for them.
Who will benefit from it?
Anybody who doesn't require the buttons inside the sidebar to close their tabs. They have the choice to go without the buttons and enjoy a cleaner, more focused tabs sidebar.
