Same issue here:

$ npm install

I was facing the same error. To solve it I updated the web3 version to 1.5.1 ( "web3": "1.5.1" in the package.json)
Also, don't forget to replace truffle-hdwallet-provider with "@truffle/hdwallet-provider": "^1.4.3".
