Apple TV integration - Service Unavailable

My Apple TV integration stopped working. Tried re-adding it but still not working. Did something change? It says Service Unavailable in a red banner on top of the screen when I try to send button presses.

Remote firmware version: v 1.9.2
Apple TV Model: Apple TV 4K 3rd gen. A2843 (128 GB)
tvOS: 18.4.1 (22L261)
Using the provided Apple TV integration: v 0.14.1
The only thing could be that my Apple TV updated itself (it is set to do this automatically)

I installed the latest Beta firmware snd everything is working again.

Thanks for the additional information.
It is indeed an issue with the production Remote firmware 1.9.2. There was a change in Apple tvOS 18.4.0 and newer that requires an updated integration. The update is currently only included in the Remote firmware.

I have also the same message "Service is currently not available, please try later." even after toggling it.

Tried several steps:

• Reinstalled Integration several times
• Rebootet several times Remote3 and Apple TV
• Updated Apple TV (see below)
• Apple TV Airplay allowed to everybody
• Remote3 Updated to latest version (see below)

this is probably due to a wrong setting which makes the AppleTV unable to be woken up.

Specifically : go in the Home App, Home Settings and then obviously change „Allow Speaker & TV Access“ to at least „Same Network“. It was set to „Only people sharing this Home“.

I'm now getting this error (Service is currently not available, please try later.) after last night. I have rebooted the remote a few times but not the Apple TV.
When I go into the settings there's a setting to allow everyone or anyone on the same network or require a password.

Interesting, the integration had switched to the Wi-Fi MAC address and a Wi-Fi IP address but my understanding is the Apple TV can only be configured to work on LAN or Wi-Fi. I swear I had set it on LAN because that's the only information I can see in the Apple TV's networking configuration section. I also looked at my Wi-Fi access point and I don't see the Apple TV there. Where did the integration get a Wifi IP address from?

The IP is taken from UPNP protocol which is a broadcast protocol used for automatic discovery.
And if the device becomes unavailable, the integration will scan the network again and look after a device with the same registered mac address or if the mac changed too with the same device name.

The mac address which is also the identifier of the device can also change which is a real pain (thank you appple), but now the integration handles that.

I don't know what happened on your setup but maybe the LAN connection failed and the AppleTV switched to wifi.
Anyway, after fixing your setup, you can launch the setup again of the integration and update the IP.

It is advised to set a fixed IP on your router for all your devices used by the remote to avoid this kind of problem

One last important thing : if the mac address has changed and if you delete and reinstall the integration, it will take the new mac address as the identifier and it will break all existing mapping in activities. So better update (configure option) instead of reinstalling the device in the setup flow

Thanks for the info and I had tried to set a static IP for it the other day 'cause before I even got the remote folks were mentioning how you should try to set static IPS for everything you can basically.

But looking at it yesterday was not set in the router. I'm still unsure if its actual IP changed though it's not like I've got hundreds of devices fighting over IP addresses but anyway it's working again for the moment.

It's fun in the Apple TVI can't even look at the Wi-fi settings when LAN is configured.

Integration refuses to turn AppleTV on if it has shut itself down.
I get a Service is currently not available, please try later. which goes away if I first use the AppleTV remote to turn it on.

AppleTV is set with a static dhcp lease on LAN interface.

I’m seeing the same “Service unavailable – Tap to close” error. I’ve set an IP address reservation in my Eero router, enabled AirPlay, configured it to allow access for everyone, and set Sleep to Never.

If I first power on the Apple TV using the Apple remote, the activity works perfectly. Please let me know if there’s a fix or recommended workaround for this.
