Enemy positions are not synced

Can be observed in mission 5. Deploy at 600, bottom left LZ, run to the left road. Wait for a minute, then tell second player to join. There will be a patrol on the road for host, but for client that patrol is still far away.

just found a fix to that luckily for you.... mostly.

all the host and client needs to do is to reload the checkpoint, and enemy will follow the same route.

as far as i can see, in the FOB mode, the FOB netcode tries its hardest to sync positions between the host and the client, and you can see how the gameplay resumes when the host loads in, and the client loads in completely, and the guards position and route is synchorized to the attacker and the defender. the client is basically the defender.

therefore, the host and client reload at checkpoint at the same time (obviously doesn't need to be perfectly reloaded) so they can have a much better position sync.

@unknown321 hey, so a little study was made.

so soldiers CAN desync for the client, however the game will attempt to resync the soldiers positions to the client

how they resync: Soldier A on the host's POV, starts walking to the entrance of a building, which soldier A opens the door and gets inside successfully. Soldier A on the client's POV is 10 meters away from the entrance which Soldier A on the client's POV suddenly starts sprinting, then suddenly stopping when they reach the stairs. That means soldier A was far from where their actual (host)'s position, so it began to run to where it's positioned on the host's POV, and stop when they are there.

however, if the soldier is still fails to find their route: the netcode eventually gives up then teleports the soldier from the client's POV to wherever the soldier is positioned on the host's POV.

so nothing is wrong with enemy positions, you can close the issue.

well, this did happen for me when the soldiers were on caution. but i did a little further testing, on sneak they seem to start jogging (sneak phase) when i began to pause and unpause as client

however, i did pause the game for about 10 seconds as client. when i looked away as client and looked back: the soldiers were at the position of the host pov.

Pausing is not reliable; I believe it doesn't work at all in multiplayer sessions.

The issue is already confirmed, no need to waste time on reproducing.

pausing isn't as reliable sure. but managed to see the soldier clip to the host POV position right infront of me, same results happened when the soldier was on caution with the pause/unpause method

but if you insist, mkay. it's your decision after all.

some insights to this:

i think resyncs are attempted when the soldiers are following a "random" route, and resyncs are never attempted if the soldier is following a "unique" route for client POV.

that could be plausible reason to why soldiers did not resync (the soldiers on mission 5 soldiers are walking to the guard post)

update: i managed to retest it, and i was really wrong.

so it turns out: if the soldier gets to their position before the client does on their screen, the soldier will run to the location and THEN freeze.
