Only five manuscripts were inventarized on <date>in December 2024</date> by Hāgos Gabramāryām
and ʾĀmanuʾel ʾĀbrǝha, and in addition three hand crosses (one of them dating to the 15th century). According to the local people,
the biggest part of the collection was destroyed by a
lightning strike during a storm in the rainy season of 1996 EC (probably June to early September of 2004), at least 20 parchment manuscripts
(including two manuscripts of <ref type="work" corresp="LIT1453GadlaG">the Vita of Gabra Masqal</ref>) and many
church items. Also before that the manuscript collection was endangered and damaged by fire at several occassions.
