The failure slurm-gcp-v6-static by task execution order.
Now pre-deploy runs before gcluster deploy, so the reservation exists before validation.

Summary of Changes

Hello @aslam-quad, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a critical issue in the slurm-gcp-v6-static build where pre-deploy tasks were not executing in the correct sequence, leading to validation failures. By adjusting the order of operations within the Ansible playbook, the system now guarantees that all necessary pre-deployment steps are successfully completed before the main cluster deployment process begins, thereby preventing premature validation errors.

Highlights

  • Pre-deploy Task Execution Order: The 'Run Pre Deploy Tasks' block in the slurm-integration-test.yml Ansible playbook has been moved to execute earlier, specifically before the 'Create Deployment Directory' and 'Create Cluster with gcluster' steps. This ensures that any pre-deployment tasks, such as creating reservations, are completed prior to cluster deployment validation.
Changelog
  • tools/cloud-build/daily-tests/ansible_playbooks/slurm-integration-test.yml
    • Reordered the 'Run Pre Deploy Tasks' to execute earlier in the playbook.
Activity
  • Identified a failure in the slurm-gcp-v6-static build (06c4566d-410d-4eec-9a84-7fb50d75ada5) due to incorrect task execution order.
  • The change ensures pre-deploy tasks now run before gcluster deploy, resolving the validation issue where reservations were not existing before validation.

Code Review

The pull request correctly addresses the task execution order issue in the Slurm integration test playbook. By moving the Run Pre Deploy Tasks block before the Create Deployment Directory task, it ensures that any necessary infrastructure (such as reservations) is created before the gcluster create command performs its validation. This change is consistent with the project's testing patterns and effectively resolves the reported failure.
