Can I customize the look and feel?

Yes, standard the theme "simple" is used. You can copy the "simple" theme to a new directory and customize the templates with the changes you need. When upgrading the CMS your customizations are not touched.

Can I disable the Forum?

Yes, you can disable the forum when logged in as role administrator. Goto manager dashboard, select manager overview and click on settings overview. Set disable forum to active and save the changed settings.

Can I disable the Chat?

Yes, you can disable the chat when logged in as role administrator. Goto manager dashboard, select manager overview and click on settings overview. Set disable chat to active and save the changed settings.

Can I disable the Support page?

Yes, you can disable the support page when logged in as role administrator. Goto manager dashboard, select manager overview and click on settings overview. Set disable support to active and save the changed settings.

How can I install Simple CMS?

Download the install.sh script into the directory where you want to start with Simple-CMS. Edit the script by answering the questions in the file:

  • database
  • username
  • password
  • hostname
  • port
  • SMTP hostname
  • REDIS server hostname

Change the permissions to 755 or chmod +x and run the install.sh script. The script will download the latest version and install it in the directory of your choice. The first user which is created is standard the administrator.

How can I login I did not enter any account data?!

That is correct, when the installation is finished and you visit your brand new website an account is automaticly created. The username and password are saved in the logfile of today in the logs directory. The format of the logfile is %d-%m-%Y-app.log.

How can I upgrade the Simple CMS

Make the update.sh script executable chmod +x or chmod 755 and run the update.sh script. The script will create a backup of the files, download the latest version on github and install the latest version. When your Simple CMS is running fine don't forget to delete the backup. Check the theme in the templates directory when you have customized a lot you might miss new features in the html templates.
