Unbreaks cinny-desktop on Linux (fixes #431935).
Draft for now to give the upstream PR at cinnyapp/cinny-desktop#482 some more time to land instead of having to maintain the patch in-tree.

This currently has some issues, see my comment in the upstream PR.
