Privacy Policy – Outer Limits

Outer Limits is a Chrome extension developed for an academic research study conducted by Lehigh University.

Scope The extension operates only on old.reddit.com as part of a controlled research environment.

Data We Collect We collect limited study-related telemetry, which may include: • Reddit post page views (e.g., URLs on old.reddit.com and timestamps) • Interaction attempts on Reddit post pages (e.g., clicks related to upvotes, downvotes, comments, comment edits, and comment deletions) • Study interface interactions and experiment condition metadata (non-personal)

What We Do Not Collect We do not collect: • General browsing history outside of old.reddit.com • Passwords, payment information, private messages, or financial data • Precise location data • Personally identifiable information (PII) intentionally

Platform Impact Actions performed on experimentally manipulated posts are blocked locally and are not submitted to Reddit. The extension does not affect Reddit accounts or communities.

How We Use Data Data is used solely for academic research purposes and analyzed in aggregate.

Data Sharing We do not sell user data or share it with third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
