This update introduces significant enhancements to the VIKUS Viewer, focusing on improved user interaction, direct linking capabilities, and advanced annotation tools.

New Features & Enhancements

  1. URL-Based Configuration: The viewer's state can now be precisely controlled and shared via URL parameters. This allows for direct linking to specific visualizations. The configurable parameters include:
  2. Object Highlighting: A new feature has been implemented to dynamically highlight one or more objects within the visualization. This is useful for drawing attention to specific data points or search results.
  3. Freehand Annotations: Users can now add freehand annotations using simple vector shapes (lines, polygons). This allows for quick and direct labeling or drawing on the map visualization.
  4. Animated State Transitions: To improve user experience, smooth animations have been added between different visualization states when parameters are changed. This creates a more fluid and intuitive transition when zooming, filtering, or changing layouts.

Notes on Implementation
Zoom Configuration Challenge: The implementation of the URL-based zoom level configuration presented unforeseen difficulties that required additional development effort to resolve. The feature is now fully functional and stable.
