fit_to_datato accept a tuple of arrays (rather than a variadic number of arrays). The variadic approach forced key and dist to be provided as positional arguments, followed by positional arrays, which was a little too many (forced) positional arguments. Should still not be a breaking change (until the deprecation takes place)
