2.4.1 - Early Autumn Changes

Changelog

• Added the Stand Visibility option to allow for hiding the shirt stand when necessary. Currently, the option is restricted to a visible and invisible toggle, though a "first-person-only" option is being considered and will likely be added in a future update

• Changed the speed of the shirt cycle when viewing a pack to two seconds per shirt rather than a single second

• Changed the material swapping for the shirt stand to work reliably for when detailed lighting is enabled and disabled, rather than when the Ghost Reactor map is loaded and unloaded

• Fixed the shirt stand character preference being independent from the configuration for it. When the configuration changes for the preference, so will the character, instead of the other way around

• Fixed two locations for the shirt stand that had become misplaced due to game updates

  • The Ghost Reactor location has been moved to near the entrance of the shop area, with an additional location beside the computer in the main drill area

  • The Virtual Stump location has been moved to beside the cosmetic wardrobe from near the now removed sofa in the area

• Fixed shirt stand character using signature shirt name tag anchor when displaying shirts without name tag anchors. The signature shirt refers to the shirt assigned to the two shirt stand character preferences, Silly has her purple croptop, and Steady has his red hoodie

  • None
    Default shirts are not used
  • Irrelevant Player
    Default shirts are assigned to each player randomly
  • Relevant Player
    Default shirts are assigned to each player by their unique ID

    Default shirts match with what is worn by the local player

• Added a shuffle button to the custom colour menu which chooses a random colour

• Updated the welcome and loading screens

• Updated the list of messages to appear on the welcome screen

GorillaShirts 2.3.0

Custom Colour Upgrade

The term "custom colour" has been defined since inception of GorillaCosmetics, meaning the colour properties for a custom cosmetic synchronize to the colour of the player. But with this upgrade, you have the ability to change that.

By pressing the custom colour button when viewing a compatible shirt, you are able to input a colour that will be applied to the shirt. Your input is networked to other GorillaShirts users using this latest version. Want to synchronize the colour back to your own? Press the sync button in the bottom left-hand corner of the menu, and it will stay that way until you choose to modify the colour.

• Added manual application of custom colours for the local player, where manual input is prioritized over the player colour
• Added experimental handling of the LODGroup component for .ghirt format, will improve in a future update
• The shirt stand menu has been tweaked for optimization and to appear more compact
• Maximum character count for packs and shirts on shirt stand has been increased significantly
• Expanded pre-defined list of shaders permitted for conversion into Gorilla Tag's uber shader
• Network properties will now only set when they differ from what was previously defined
• Fixed updating pack releases resulting in softlocks for the majority of GorillaShirts users

GorillaShirts 2.2.1

This is the first patch for GorillaShirts since it's 2.0 release!

You might not know this, but each number in a version of GorillaShirts follows semantic versioning. It should give you an idea of when an update is classified as a major, minor, or patch when comparing its version to the last. I mention all of this because a change in this update surrounds the major and minor labels that some people might not understand at first.

Changelog

• At the "wrong version" screen, if you are behind at least one minor or one major update, you are no longer given the option to continue using the mod, and only the button used to open the latest release is shown
• The Shirt Stand character will always be visible, and have their signature shirt worn (Silly wears her croptop, Steady wears his hoodie)
• When a pack has a fitting release, it's author and description will match with the release, otherwise, they're automated per usual
• .gshirt files have been prioritized more than .shirt files in terms of when they're loaded
• The "Default" release can now be updated when one is requested, rather than always forcing to being re-installed
• GorillaShirts will now load when an error is presented/in a circumstance where cosmetics won't be able to load

Pack Browser changes

Due to changes made to both GorillaShirts and some returning shirts accurately reconstructed and enhanced for GorillaShirts 2.0, packs may require a minimum version of GorillaShirts to be installed in order to download and install the pack. Currently, this only applies to the Custom pack, but with plans to expand the list of available packs, I don't see this not becoming a reoccurring feature.

Here is the process of updating the Custom pack in an outdated version, or rather, lack thereof, as big red text reads "GorillaShirts update required".

Though, this feature hasn't been fully tested. If you run into issues, per the notice I have listed, please submit an issue on this repository, and the appropriate changes will be made when the time is right.

Pack Browser

The pack browser allows you to install packs and load their shirts entirely within Gorilla Tag! The packs that are available are hosted on GitHub, which makes for adding new packs or changing new ones a relatively smooth process. This feature is still being worked on, with more packs to be published and image previews for packs to be created in the future.

Anchors

Anchors refers to the placement of specific objects placed onto the gorilla. As of now, GorillaShirts can modify the anchors for the name tag, badge cosmetic, and chest cosmetic (slingshot) of the player. Anywhere from none to all three of the anchors can be defined within the Unity project for GorillaShirts.

Fallbacks

A fallback refers to the default shirt chosen to be used on a player if their intended shirt isn't found. A fallback can be assigned in the Unity project for GorillaShirts, but know that no fallback is chosen on default, and therefore won't be used.

Additional Changes

• Rewrote the entire mod from scratch, bugs should be less prominent and updates should be more frequent
• Added shirt stand locations for Ranked Forest and Share my Blocks maps
• Updated shirt stand location for Bayou (Prop Haunt) map
  Added an all-new .gshirt file type, this will be the standard from now on. Due to this, the .shirt file type is now considered legacy/obsolete and will no longer receive updates
• Added a welcome menu to detail the process of the mod loading after the base game cosmetics are ready
• Updated the load menu to display a random fact, a counter for shirts which failed to load, and additional information
• Added a favourite system, simply press the star button when selecting a shirt to add/remove it to your favourited shirt pack
• Updated the out of date menu to implement options for opening the latest release in your web browser and continuing to use the mod
