This also includes the changes from #16 / #17.
This code is tested on WinUI/MAUI and Android. For UWP and iOS/macOS I do not have a test-environment at the moment and I will test it there ASAP. Especially UWP is completely untested and likely to break. iOS/macOS should work fine, as it is more or less identical to Android. I just wanted to share it here to get input from others about these changes.
